Glossier Haul + My Makeup Look

Glossier Haul + My Makeup Look

This is a blog post I have been waiting for so long to create. When I found out about Glossier, I immediately fell in love with its products, ingredients, packagings, and aesthetics. The philosophy behind the brand is to celebrate one’s beauty and enhance a natural look, which really speak to my own values. Glossier products are very easy to work (no need for any brushes), long-lasting and buildable – they create healthy, dewy and glowy look that I absolutely love. 😍

Glossier Skincare Products

Clean, dewy, perfectly primed skin is Glossier step 1. If I only use three products every day, I make them Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturizer and Balm Dotcom. Together they form the backbone to a daily skincare routine: three not-so-basic basics that keep skin clean, moisturized, and happy each day.

Milky Jelly Cleanser

This product is simply the best conditioning facial cleanser I have ever used! 😍 I used to use a cleansing oil and a face wash in order to remove my make and clean my face, but Milky Jelly dissolves away my makeup, even stubborn mascara, and completely cleans my skin. The pH-balanced, creamy gel formula is made with a blend of five skin conditioners, which leaves my skin feeling healthy and soft, never tight. What I love the most about this cleanser is that it does not irritate my eyes – compared to all of my previous makeup removing products were making my eyes itchy – its cleansing power comes from the same gentle cleaning agents found in contact lens solution, so it’s tough on impurities and still safe to use on your eyes. Even though I don’t like its smell, I am dedicated to use it since I saw that my skin’s condition improved a lot after using this product. 💆

Priming Moisturizer

To be honest, I was very skeptical about this Priming Moisturizer since I generally do not believe in 2-in-1 products. When it comes to moisturizers and primers, I have probably tried everything that is available in Sephora and found one product in each category that actually work on my skin (which made me even more skeptical about this creme). To my surprise, Glossier moisturizer works wonders! The other day, I was in rush to a meeting and I didn’t have time to do my makeup, so I quickly grabbed it in hope to save some time of putting two products on my face. While I was continuing on my makeup routine, I realized that all of the products were blending unusually smoothly into my skin, even filling in my brows felt so effortless and polished. When I came back home, I was amazed how good my makeup still looked. I am so glad I ordered this product, having a fresh, glowing canvas that’s ready for makeup is something new to me since I always associated primers with creating a solid – almost another layer of some sort of artificial skin – thickness on my face. Indeed, this product works great as a primer and moisturizer. It helps minimize the appearance of pores and it quickly and visibly reduces redness while calming skin thanks to its soothing mix of tea and honey extracts. It gives my skin a clean, dewy and balanced finish, which I absolutely love! 💓

Balm Dotcom

Balm Dotcom is a very moisturizing, but not too waxy, lip balm that soothes dry and chafed lips. I love its cute packaging – the long-lasting tube is just a perfect size full of conditioning ingredients such as castor seed oil, beewax, lanolin, cupuacu fruit extract, rice bran and rosemary leaf extracts. The product comes in six flavours, I have ordered Birthday, which is inspired by Milk Bar’s famous cake. It smells like a birthday cake 🎉 and provides a subtle shimmer. 👄

Glossier Makeup Products

Glossier step 2 is getting dressed for a day: groom with Boy Brow, even things out with a dab of Stretch Concealer, highlight with Haloscope, paint cheeks with Cloud Paint and smudge on a sheer, matte lip with Generation G. The look is bare, casual, applied in simple, easy gestures.

Stretch Concealer

I don’t wear foundation everyday; instead I like using a concealer on the parts of my skin (dark circles, redness and blemishes) that need some coverage. Stretch Concealer‘s formula is buildable, but for me a think layer of it is enough since it provides really good coverage and it very easy blends into my skin. What makes this concealer unique and very convenient to use is that it has beeswax and elastic micro waxes that give the product a super elastic consistency and allow it to move with your face – it doesn’t stiffen or cake. Moreover, its nourishing oils like avocado and jojoba oil nourish skin, prevent from water loss and give a dewy, glowing finish. It also has a cocoa butter, which is a natural fat full of the good stuff that promotes skin elasticity and suppleness. Stretch Concealer comes in five shades, I use medium and I think that it perfectly matches my skin tone 🙂

Boy Brow

I am not a happy human being when my eyebrows are not done. Boy Brow is an eyebrow filler and shaper with the creamy wax formula inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake. When applying in short, upward strokes to fluff and shape brows into place, it creates a very natural finish – perfect for an everyday look of healthy, face-framing brows. For me, it definitely works better than Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel since it has a better, smaller brush that makes the product spreading precisely without leaving any stains. However, I think that to create perfect brows, it works best when paired with Anastasia Beverly Hills pomade – this duo gives brows on fleek! The product comes in four colours, I have the one in brown and I am really happy how it matches my natural eyebrow’s colour. 🤗

Haloscope

My favourite part of doing my makeup is highlighting ✨ Haloscope is a highlighter stick with a dewy effect thanks to its dual-delivery formula. The outer halo is infused with genuine crystal extracts (which I think is pretty cool) for all-day enlightenment, with a solid oil core of vitamin-rich moisturizers for a hydrated, dewy finish. It is very blendable and easy to use while creating an otherworldly sheen that is not glittery. Haloscope comes in three shades, I have Quartz – a universally flattering, pearlescent highlight with a little bit of pinkish undertones that I really like.

Cloud Paint

I can’t decide if I like Cloud Paint‘s packing or the product itself better – I mean, how cute are these small tubes of blush? 😍 Its pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek colour in existence, the application is very silky and even. The product is seamless, sheer, and buildable – a tiny dot is needed for a healthy, flushed-from-within glow. It comes in four shades, I got Puff (pinkish one) and Dusk (nude one), for me, they are probably the most multipurpose Glossier products. I like to use Puff as a blush and Dusk as a contouring product – the look is very subtle and natural, without any harsh contouring lines. Moreover, sometimes when I am on the go, I will apply these products as eyeshadows to create a perfect nude makeup look. 🌸

Generation G

Generation G gives the look of just-blotted lipstick minus the blot, it is very easy to work with as its consistency is buildable. It comes in six shades, I decided to go with Zip, which is a matte, very rich, classic red colour. When I opened it, I was a little bit terrified how pigmented it is (I am more of nude lipsticks person), but once I applied two swipes onto my lips it turned out that it comes as a subtle wash of colour, three or four swipes give a stronger colour payoff. This classic lipstick very versatile and perfect for both: everyday, natural look and a fancier makeup for a special occasion – there is just no way to go wrong with it! 💄
