How To Get Salon Perfect Mani At Home

How To Get Salon Perfect Mani At Home

Since these days booking an appointment at our favourite beauty salons isn’t an option due to the COVID-19 situation, I wanted to share with you beauties how I do my nails and how you can get salon perfect mani at home too!

First things first, let’s start with the most important supplies for this at-home beauty salon: nail lamp and nail polish.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a lamp or nail polish already at home. The products that I use and highly recommend are available on Amazon to avoid making unnecessary trips to the store.

💡Nail Lamp 💡

I use Terresa 72 Watt UV LED Nail Lamp, which is a fast-drying lamp for gel nail polish. It is very easy to use with smart auto sensor design. There is no button to turn it on, you need to simply put your hands in and it automatically turns lights on. Likewise, when you take your hands out, the lamp turns off.

It comes with three buttons programmed for 30, 60, 120 seconds depending on your needs. It also has a memory function, so if you set it once for for example 60 seconds, it will remember it and when next time you put your hands in, it will turn on for 60 seconds.

Terresa Nail Lamp stands out because of its size and thoughtful placement of light beads. It has enough space to cure both 5 fingernails or 5 toenails at the same time. With its 180 degree multi-angle light beads, you can dry the whole hand (including the thumb) or foot evenly at once (without worrying about the sides of your nails).

💅🏼 Nail Polish 💅🏼

I have tried a bunch of nail polishes and enjoyed Gel Polish from Aimeli (you can also find different sets of colours on Amazon) the most. According to the packaging, they provide a 21-day wear, but my mani last up to a month and never chips, which is a huge bonus for someone like me who has weak nails that break very easily!

Aimeli nail polishes are great especially for beginners and amateurs because of their super easy application – you apply it like a regular nail polish, but wear like gel! Thank hey provide a shiny finish and are super easy to remove (on my nails, they come off like nail stickers).

Aimeli also offers the Base Coat and No Wipe Top, which are the best on the market in my opinion.

1. Prepare Your Nails

Trim and file nails to the desired length and shape. Clean the nails with alcohol pad or nail polish remover. It is important to ensure that your nails are completely clean and oil-free!

2. Apply Base Coat

Apply a thin base coat (if you apply it heavily, your mani won’t look good) and insert hand into LED light for 30 seconds or into UV lamp for 1 minute. Apply to the middle of the nail and then to both sides.

3. Apply Colour Coat

Before applying please shake the bottle a bit or warm it up with warm water for better consistency. Apply a thin (again, a THIN) colour coat and insert hand into LED light for 30-60 seconds or into UV lamp for 2 minutes. Apply a second colour coat and repeat the process by inserting hand into LED light for 30-60 seconds or into UV lamp for two minutes. You can apply a third coat if necessary.

4. Apply Top Coat

Apply a thin no wipe coat and insert hand into LED light for 30-60 seconds or into UV lamp for 2 minutes. Enjoy your salon perfect mani!

TIP: Once you apply the no wipe coat all over your nail, use what is left on your brush to concentrate on the tip of your nail for an extra strength!

5. Enjoy Your Salon Perfect Mani

This nail polish is a beautiful nude colour (107) from Aimeli. It is perfect for an everyday, simple and always classy mani 💅🏼

If you have gotten your nails done before the pandemic and now you need to remove them at home, but don’t know how, here is a simple instruction:

  1. File the surface of the nails using a coarse nail file – this helps break through the top coat to allow the remover to penetrate the layers of polish below.
  2. Soak the cotton ball. with remover and place it on your fingernails, or use a pre-acetone-ready-to-use removal wraps.
  3. Wrap it tightly around your nails with a foil and leave for around 15 minutes, then use a cuticle pusher to push. it off.
  4. Use a buffing block to smooth the surface of each nail and remove any remaining little bit of nail polish.
  5. Wash and moisturize your hands and nails.

Please wash your hands not only after removing your gel nail polish, but regularly to prevent the virus from spreading.

I hope you are all staying healthy and safe at home! xx
